Matakana Boutique can graciously host up to 22 guests, offering a unique collection of experiences that have been lived, dreamed and brought to life.
Amy Hope, the Creative Director and Co-founder, in partnership with her husband Simon Hope, is the driving force behind Matakana Boutique and, as devoted residents of Matakana, their journey in the region commenced in 2016 with Amy's passion for interior design and a kean eye for detail, leading to the creation of the Black & White Barn, a rustic and enchanting boutique accommodation.
In late 2018 they purchased White Cottage, the iconic Matakana residence, originally constructed by the Lovelock Cozen family in 1883 using native Kauai sourced from nearby. This graceful home was meticulously revitalized by Amy and Simon to create a modernised twist in keeping with is iconic character.
The Villa and the View are more recent additions to the accommodation boutique and their distinctive qualities further complement the selection which is geared to cater for individual preferences.
Simon, a talented chef, is also on hand to provide his in-house catering services to Matakana Boutique guests, ensuring a culinary experience that is both exquisite and memorable during your stay.
The Matakana Boutique provides a tasteful, peaceful getaway. The properties are just minutes away or within a stones throw from the renowned Farmers Market on the River Bank, retail boutiques, eateries, bakery, art and pottery gallery, specialised bookshop and quaint cinema. It is altogether an exquisite blend of sophisticated style eloquence, design and leisurely comfort away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

It's been a year since I discovered White cottage... what a beautiful place. When you push the door, you already have the impression of coming home. Everything is beautiful and orderly, all the little thoughtful details are there, the fridge filled with delicacies as well as fresh fruit from the market, everything from local producers. Amy will welcome you with her smile and tell you when to go to the market to discover the fantastic products from the region. I’m looking forward to going back again soon.
